For small firms running estates, guardianship & the files next to them

Every deadline in hand. Every client at ease.

The first screen is a morning board: overdue windows, this week's dates, quiet files, and the matters they belong to. You enter every date. We never invent a statutory clock.

Why a spreadsheet stops working

The dates that carry real liability

Exposure

Creditor claim windows

Miss the window and the estate can stay exposed to claims that should have been time-barred.

Filings

Inventory & accounting

Courts don't send reminders. A late filing is a court appearance you didn't need to have.

Neglect

Files that go quiet

Past a handful of open matters, a spreadsheet cannot tell you which file has had nothing logged for three weeks.

No migration project

Open a file this morning. The board is useful by lunch.

  1. 01

    Open one matter

Estate, guardianship, or a general file. Court, county, case number, and your role — when you have them.

  2. 02

Put this week on the board

You enter the dates. The home screen sorts what is overdue, due this week, colliding, or gone quiet.

  3. 03

    Print the working draft

Inventory, informal accounting, time, and the contact log pull from the same records. Confirm against source documents before you file.

What the board is for

Four jobs. Not forty feature cards.

01

A morning that starts with liability, not a folder hunt

Overdue windows, this week’s dates, documents still needed, notices still due — one home screen, the same one you just looked at.

02

A file that assembles itself as you work

Deadlines, hearings, work, documents, inventory, claims, the ledger, and a chronology in date order. The exhibit you used to rebuild in Word before every hearing.

03

Time and trust you can actually reconcile

Timers per matter, invoices from time already logged, a client trust ledger separate from the estate’s money, and a flag the moment a sub-ledger goes negative.

04

Updates you can send without leaking the file

A status note drafted from the matter’s own dates — never task titles or work-product notes. Read-only shares you can revoke.

Inside the file

The records you already keep, in one place

Estates and guardianship go deepest — inventory, claims, beneficiaries, accountings. Every other practice area gets the same spine: deadlines, work, documents, time, and billing, without the probate-only tabs.

  • Deadlines & calendar

Entered by you. Rolled up across every open matter.

  • Case chronology

Hearings, dates, documents, notes, time, invoices — one axis.

  • Document checklists

Requested, received, filed — per matter and in one list.

  • Working drafts

Inventory, accounting, time, care log — print or CSV.

  • Timers

Start a clock when you pick up a file. It keeps running.

  • Trust ledger

Retainers per client, flagged when a floor is hit or a balance goes negative.

  • Trust reconciliation

Bank statement against every client sub-ledger.

  • Limitations watch list

Dates you enter, soonest-first, flagged inside 90 days.

Luminous Social organizes the deadlines, figures, and records you enter — it does not tell you what your state's probate code requires or provide legal or accounting advice. Every date and figure is entered by you, the licensed professional handling the file.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

The file is protected the same way whether you are opening it or printing a draft.

Your data is never sold

No client list, no estate figure, no beneficiary record is shared for marketing.

You control every share

Every read-only link to a co-fiduciary or family member can be revoked when you choose.

Simple pricing. The trial is the full workspace.

14 days, no card. Pick a plan when you are ready — the trial is identical on every tier.

Questions firms actually ask

Is this legal advice or a court filing system?

No. Luminous Social organizes the dates, figures, and records you enter. It does not calculate statutory deadlines, generate court forms, or tell you what your state requires.

Will it invent dates I then have to check?

No, on purpose. Creditor-claim windows and filing clocks vary by state and sometimes by county. A wrong default is a liability problem. You enter every date. Suggested labels are titles only.

How long until the board is useful?

Open one matter and put this week’s dates on it. Most firms see the home screen working in a first sitting — no migration project, no engineering.

Who is it for?

Small firms and solos running more than a handful of open matters — estate lawyers, professional fiduciaries, and court-appointed guardians first, and the litigation, family, real-estate, or immigration files sitting alongside them.

Does it handle practice areas other than probate?

Yes. Anything that is not an estate or a guardianship opens as a general matter — court, docket number, opposing party, your client’s role — and gets the same deadlines, work list, documents, contacts, time, and billing. The probate-specific tabs (inventory, creditor claims, beneficiaries) simply do not appear on it.

Will this disrupt how we already work?

It keeps your process. You still decide the dates, the work, and what gets filed. The software is the board and the file — not a new practice of law.

Can I share a file with a co-fiduciary or family member?

Yes. Each estate or guardianship matter can get a read-only link that you can revoke. You control every share.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your existing matters stay put and stay readable. Opening new matters requires a Solo, Practice, or Firm plan. Team members start on Practice.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. The 14-day trial is the full workspace. No card to start.
